1. Personal dataDuring your first registration the following data gets stored by our automatic ordering system. All data is of course transmitted via an encrypted connection.
We store the following data:
- First name, last name
- Street, street number
- Zip code, city
- Phone
- Fax (optional)
- Email adress
- Date of birth
- Payment provider (PayPal – ClickandBuy)
This data is stored in our database and is used for contract purposes.
2. Profile dataInformation that you provide on your eightpage will naturally be read by other internet users worldwide. People that you have never heard of and have never met in person. We therefore urge you to be cautious and responsible with your personal data. Please do make use of the provided privacy settings.
eightpage does store all pages of their users with all their content. This is necessary in order to provide our service.
eightpage does index all content of user pages so they can be found via the internal search function and on our sites such as eightpage.com and eightpageworld.com.
We use the following profile data for our index of eightpages at eightpageworld.com:
- Domain
- Profile name
- Profile slogan
- Profile keywords
- Profile image
- Online/offline status
- Last update
This makes browsing through available eightpages for our users easier. Every user can remove himself from eightpageworld.com and remain invisible there. The default setting is set to visible.
3. Cookie usage, data aggregation and analysisDepending on your security settings within your browser, "Cookies" are stored on your local computer.
We set cookies when you log in to your profile and personal center to authorize your access. In both cases the cookie is solely for the stated purpose. They are not processed in any other way, especially not for profiling purposes.
In order to optimize our service steadily, we collect traffic data for statistic purposes. We do not log IP adresses or any other data that would allow user identification. The data that gets logged at eightpage is not in any way personal.
4. Duration of data storagePersonal data gets deleted after one year from the day the contractual relationship has ended, unless there are specific reasons not to do so. In case a user does object against an invoice, contract data gets stored until there is a settlement reached.
We may furthermore store personal data up to two years in case of an ongoing complaint or other aspects concerning the contractual relationship that need to be resolved. Apart from that the deletion of personal and contract data may be omitted if government regulations or law enforcement require to do so.
5. Storage of database dataWe access our database solely via an encrypted connection. Third parties therefore have no access to this data.
We deploy firewall software to additionally protect your data.
The entire ordering process as well as the usage of the personal center is also secured via SSL encryption.
6. The extent to which data is logged and storedEverytime you use our service or log in to your personal center your current IP is logged in connection with time and date and executed action. This data is not used for establishing user profiles. It is used to track unauthorized access and abuse by third parties. This data can be made accessible if required by court order or investigating authorities. This data may also be stored for up to six months if necessary for contractual purposes or in case the user has neglected to pay or objected to his invoice or if required by government regulations. This data remains locked as long as it is stored to fulfill legal or fiscal regulations.
7. Transmission of data to domain registrarsIn order to be able to register your domain, your personal data get transmitted to the corresponding registrar (i.e. INTERNIC). Not all personal data gets transmitted this way. Data such as payment method for example is of no concern to anyone and remains with us!
Please take note that this data transmission is mandatory and can not be avoided. This is due to domain registrar regulations (i.e. INTERNIC), which we can not influence.
Data transmitted this way to the registrars can be requested and retrieved by all internet users. It is against all registrars policies to use this data for commercial or ad purposes. It is therefore safe to assume that your data stored there is not misused for advertisment purposes.
8. Transmission of data to third partiesUnder no circumstances will your data be transmitted to third parties unless there is a given reason such as mentioned above. Your data is not shared with third parties unless we are required to do so as aforesaid. We will never sell your data for advertisment purposes and will always keep usage to the absolute minimum.
